 \26.3.18\ With a sound that seems to transcend labels, listening to Wilco is like looking at expensive art :you hate it, but deep down you want to like it. Their sound has soothing rhythms and can be very beautiful, but there are times where they take freedom with what music should sound like. In the way that truffle is so pungent but smells so good. The lineage of the band focuses around Jeff Tweedy. A 50 year-old musician of Uncle Tupelo fame. The band broke up due to infighting between Jay Farrar and Tweedy. The two firmed different bands, Farrar forming Son volt, and Tweedy forming Wilco in 1995.  \19.3.18\ The third EP from the Minnesota teen wonder band is a good mix of their traditional sound while keeping it new and fresh. Born from the St Paul Conservatory for the Performing Arts, they were set for succes. Made up of four high school friends Jake Luppen (vocals), Nathan Stocker (bass), Zach Sutton (guitar), and Whistler Allen (drums/Vocals). In 2014, the group self released their first EP, Bashful Creatures, before signing with Grand Jury records. The next year they re-released the record. Later that year, South was released to much critical acclaim with their songs "South" and "the halocline." a little over a year later, in 2017, the group released their first studio album, Landmark. Making up what easily sounds like a 5-piece garage rock band, the two musically inclined kids really innovate. Recording for their second album happened during a single 14-hour season in Carney's basement. Following being evicted from their studio, the group recorded Rubber Factory in an old tire factory in Akron. Following the high of the commercial success of Brothers, the bands sixth studio album, recording El Camino happened when the band wasn't touring their last album. Finding ways to make this album better to perform live, the group took notes from 50's to 70's rock and roll to rockabilly acts.  The fifth studio album by the indie rock group so profane their name has to be abbreviated. You can probably imagine the name of this group, but Starfucker was never about the fame. Joshua Hodges, founder of the band, created this name to limit their groups growth, so their label wouldn't push them as hard. He wasn't a fan of the star light. After working with Badman Recording Co. on their first two records, the band signed with Polyvinyl Records in 2010. Releasing Reptilians in 2011 and Miracle Mile in 2013, the band managed to find more success with their new record label. Three years passed before the band would put out Being No One Going Nowhere. Taking a break after their 2013 album allowed the group to rethink their sound. Filling any space with the suspenseful excitement of a 80's dance hall.
